Welcome to our music and pop culture curiosity shop.
Out Of Date Records started as a vehicle to sell and trade records about 10 years ago. We try to make your experience here less tedious and more fun than just an endless scrolling experience.
We don't present a catalog with thousands of items. Before you is a curated set of items we think you might enjoy. Many of them are rare or hard to find, many are things that we just like and think you might like them as well.
Categories:
Vinyl records, Cassettes and Compact Disks
We provide you with a rating on both the media and the package. Vinyl grading is industry standard, defined below.
Items are priced according to rarity and condition, Media/Packaging, i.e. VG+/VG+. See the bottom of the page for our rating system.
Used cassettes are at your own risk and usually priced low because we can't guarantee that a 30-year-old cassette will play on your 30-year-old walkman.
Used CDs are priced visually, we don't play test every one but will give you a media rating based on the CD condition.
Clothing
We offer music and pop culture tees, hoodies and other items. Most will be used, some will be used. If there are serious physical wear defects this will be described, but know that often this will increase the value of an item.
Art, Books and Memorabilia
Usually pop culture items that we like but don't have room for any longer. Sometimes we might offer something just because we think you might like it. Most of these will be curiosities, rarities, or things that we just think are pretty cool.
Vinyl Grading System
M = Mint
Sealed or Brand New, unplayed. If it has been opened and played it might be rated M-, if it is in otherwise perfect, unblemished condition.
NM = Near Mint
Looks unplayed.
VG+ = Very Good Plus
A great listening experience, it won't have more than a few hairline surface scuffs or scratches. Packaging will may have some scuffs and ring wear but no seam splits.
VG = Very Good
May have more than a few surface blemishes but media will not have any skips or serious listening problems, packaging may have some minor seam splits, or more serious scuffing or ring ring wear.
G = Good
There may be some noise or damage to cover. Will be a good item to buy at a lower price just to have it. If I have a VG+ and a G version of an item, I usually will keep the G version because I usually just want to have it and listen to it.
